Let's meet Libby.

Libby is one bored nine-year-old girl. Her family is on a long car ride and Libby's stuck in the back seat with her older brother Eric. All he wants to do is read his book.

After what seems like hours of being good, Libby playfully swats Eric's book - but he just digs deeper into his chapter. She keeps swatting and he keeps reading.

Mom's sitting in the front passenger seat next to Dad. She turns her head and shoots a warning look at Libby.

Libby tries to sit quietly, but it's no good. She starts singing rap, scissoring her arms back and forth to her beat. The lyrics are offensive and Mom turns again, half smiling, half scolding. "Okay, Missy Elliott," says Mom. "Show's over."

Libby's whole body goes limp. "Ugh," she says. "I'm so bored."
"Travel game?" Mom says. Libby rolls her eyes. "Game Boy?"
"Dead batteries."
"Book?" Silence. "Well then." Mom shrugs and swivels forward.

Through the window Libby sees a collie chasing a ball in a rest stop. Libby spins and pats Eric's head. 'Good boy," she says, smacking the top of his head. "That's a good boy, Eric."

Eric squirms but he's jammed against the car door. There's no escape. He places his book on his lap and looks at her. Finally, Libby thinks. I thought he'd never pay attention to me. She strokes her brother's hair and he glares at her. "Good boy, Eric."

Suddenly Mom yells at Libby. "Leave your brother alone and give your father some peace and quiet!" The whole car goes silent. For a full 15 seconds, no one makes a sound. "Finally," Mom says. Eric buries his head in his book. Libby is quietly grinning.

That night, Dad is in bed trying to read, but Mom keeps talking about Libby's antics. At last she turns to Dad and says, "Don't you have an opinion on this?"

Dad looks up from his book and starts laughing. "Libby takes after you, not me. I love her just the way she is." Mom stares at him and then joins in his laughter. She wrestles his book away and tosses it on the floor.

Now as you start focusing on freestyling, the key is to focus on freestyling without rhyming. Just forget about rhyming. What this means is that you will say whatever flows in your mind.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. The key is to continue going through if you make a mistake. Don't stop. Just keep on through the mistakes. Remember that most of the people won't realize that you made the mistake. Just you will, so just keep on freestyling.

Make a point of freestyling for 15 minutes every day. Have 5 instrumental songs going and then freestyle for 15 minutes. Don't concentrate on what you say or what you sound like. Just practice your flowing.

Get any kind of book and start rapping while reading it. This will help you to focus on saying stuff so your mouth can go free when you freestyle. This will help you to develop your rhythm and rhyming. You need to be aware of the rhythm of the beats also. You will learn how to use words so that they flow with the rhythm even though they don't have the same rhyming type of words.

Remember all the exercises that you did using your senses. The purpose of those exercises was to come up with material to use while freestyling. Well, it is now time to use all that material. Start with one sense and start freestyling using just that one sense. If you practice this at home, then when you run out of stuff to say while you are actually rapping, you can use your senses wherever you are at and come up with something to rap about.

Just remember that as long as you remember to use each of your senses, you will never run out of something to say. You will be able to always come up with something to rap about even when you feel like you have run out of material, because you will always be able to fall back on your senses.
